🗓️ Summary of May 9, 2025 – Gabriel’s Health Status
🌙 Restless night:
• From 12:15 AM to 5:30 AM, Gabriel was continuously monitored by his godmother.
• His oxygen saturation dangerously fluctuated between 84 and 89 despite three physiotherapy sessions (at 12 AM, 1:15 AM, and 2 AM).
• The doctor intervened: an X-ray revealed that the breathing tube was poorly positioned (too high). It was repositioned, which stabilized the saturation between 90 and 92.
• The doctor also changed Gabriel’s position by placing him on his stomach to improve lung expansion.
• A second X-ray confirmed that the tube was properly in place.
• Complete analyses (PCR, blood count, blood gases) were initiated at 5 AM.
• Temperature at 36°C and low blood pressure were observed.
đź’‰ Transfusion & infection:
• A blood transfusion was requested during the day due to severe anemia (low hemoglobin, very low erythrocytes).
• At 9:25 PM, the transfusion had still not been done.
• PCR results decreased from 233 to 83.5 mg/L, indicating that the antibiotic treatment is working effectively.
• The blood culture remained negative, meaning the infection seems localized and has not spread to the blood. The rest of the results are expected within 2-3 days.
🌡️ Monitoring and care:
• A body temperature of 32.6°C was measured in the afternoon, corrected by heating his bed.
• We must remain vigilant regarding the position of the tube, feeding through the tube, and the absence of aspiration.
• At 9 PM, Gabriel’s condition seems more stable for about two hours, which is encouraging.
