BO Community

BO Community is an international community platform dedicated to people affected by bronchiolitis obliterans, a rare and serious lung disease, whatever its origin: post-infectious, after a lung transplant or after a bone marrow transplant. Run by the Hope For Gabriel association, it brings together families, patients and healthcare professionals to break isolation and advance knowledge of the disease.

As of September 2026, the community counts more than 25 patient stories from 8 countries and more than 90 listed healthcare professionals. The site is available in several languages and forum posts are translated automatically: everyone writes in their own language and gets answers from around the world.

What you will find there:

  • Stories from patients and families, by country and by form of the disease.
  • A forum to ask questions and share experience.
  • Practical pointers from the community: medications, care and therapies, specialists and hospitals.
  • A research watch: scientific publications on bronchiolitis obliterans summarised in plain language, with a glossary to make sense of research terms.
  • A blog of in-depth articles and a calendar of events related to the disease worldwide.
  • A professional area where clinicians manage their profile, publish articles and become visible to families.

Information shared by the community does not replace medical advice.
