Clima dos Vírus
Clima dos Vírus (“virus weather”) is a weather report for respiratory viruses in Brazil. In three seconds, a family can see which viruses are circulating in their area, whether they are rising or falling, and what that means for a baby, an elderly person or a child with fragile lungs. The site is free and ad-free, and it updates itself: every day, it fetches the latest published data.
The project grew out of a question that parents of a little one ask, all the more when the child has fragile lungs: is it safe to go out with them this week? Gabriel’s illness began with bronchiolitis when he was three weeks old. For him, as for other children with bronchiolitis obliterans, every respiratory virus matters. In Brazil, the figures existed, but in twenty-page bulletins and dashboards built for specialists. We found no public tool that showed them virus by virus.
What you will find there:
- A bulletin for where you live: type the name of your city, or share your location, and the site answers in one sentence.
- Nine viruses tracked one by one: RSV (bronchiolitis), influenza A and B, rhinovirus, COVID-19, adenovirus, metapneumovirus, parainfluenza and bocavirus, each with its level and trend.
- All of Brazil: the 27 states, 439 health regions and more than 5,500 municipalities, with an interactive map.
- Plain-language explanations for each virus: what it is, who it affects, symptoms, when to see a doctor.
- Open, verified sources: hospital admissions published by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, checked every day against Fiocruz figures, with the date and link of each file.
The site is in Portuguese, for Brazilian families. Launched in September 2026, it is a project of BO Community, the platform run by the association. It describes the situation in an area, never that of a person: it does not replace medical advice.
