Hi, my Son,
Yesterday, we received the results of your blood test from last week.
Everything is normal, except your ACTH, which is three times higher than the average.
When ACTH climbs that high, it means your brain is working hard to get cortisol.
Either your body isn’t producing enough, or, more rarely, the gland that controls it all is overactive. This happens when the adrenal glands are exhausted, after stopping corticosteroids, in certain genetic diseases, or simply if you are under stress and/or something is causing you pain.
We are waiting to see a doctor to truly understand what’s happening.
You spent almost your whole day with your mom. She also thinks you’re coughing a bit more, and she believes your tube is bothering you more. The gastroenterologist is no longer responding, and we’re completely in the dark.
Today, the palliative pediatrician is coming to see you. We’ll see what she tells us.
Your dad who loves you very much.
PS. We are officially opening donations. I explain everything here: https://hopeforgabriel.com/en/donate/
