After 90 days in intensive care, Gabriel is finally out of UTI!!!!

A very, very, very moving outing.

We’re delighted that the three of us can finally get together in a room that’s all ours – without the beeping of the machines every five seconds.

A new life begins.

We’re slowly resuming our role as parents: changing his diapers, bathing him, looking after him… like a real family.

Gabriel still wears a small nasal cannula and receives 1 L/min of oxygen (equivalent to 26% inspired oxygen).

Saturation remains at 100% when he’s asleep. When awake and agitated, it can drop to 89%.

He still has his PICC (a central line for administering medication) around his neck, as well as a nasogastric tube for feeding. He is currently receiving 47 ml of milk per hour.

The staff are very attentive, nothing like our first experience in a room before entering UTI.

The room is comfortable: small sofa, mini-fridge, TV, bathroom with toilet… A real VIP cocoon!

And this time, you can take photos and videos, and even work right next to it.

We plan to stay here for at least a month, maybe two. The aim is to continue the treatment. Gabriel will probably receive a third course of pulsotherapy within the next four weeks, as well asat least three physiotherapy sessions a day.

Last night, his mom finally got some well-deserved rest.

We look after him with his Auntie Jaqueline, who’s holding him in her arms at the moment… and he seems to love it.
