A hectic day with a cool moment!

Gabriel woke up this morning with very heavy breathing, a bit like when he used to have seizures in hospital.

At around 9 a.m., while I was in the laundry, Manuela called me urgently to tell me we had to go home immediately as we had to go to hospital.

Suffice to say, I got my half-dry laundry back in two seconds and rushed home.

When I arrived, Manuela was with the physiotherapist. They were giving her the emergency protocol.

Fortunately, that was enough to get him back on track. Whew!

The rest of the day was a little more stable, although every time we went to physiotherapy he had some sort of asthma attack… Which was worrying, because in theory physiotherapy should be helping him.

Simple happiness

Later in the afternoon, we experienced an exceptional moment… Suspense…

It had been over six months since Manuela and I had done a Netflix session.

Since yesterday, we’ve finally had internet access at the apartment. Manuela took Gabriel as a kangaroo, he fell asleep, and the three of us were able to watch the start of a film (20 minutes).

It was so simple, and at the same time so great!

The night

At night, Paula (the UTI care assistant, if you remember) came to lend us a hand.

It’s now 4 a.m. and, so far, the night is going well.

Gabriel’s evolution

Gabriel is growing fast:

  • he begins to control his hands,
  • he rolls with his body,
  • he even tries to speak.

His development seems to have taken off in leaps and bounds. Just two months ago, he was coming out of UTI and didn’t know how to do anything. Today, he’s making more progress every day.

Little Lili is still waiting for her operation

A few days ago I shared with you a post from our friends at UTI who are waiting for the hospital to pay for surgery on their child. But the hospital operator doesn’t seem to be doing anything despite the court ruling. And little Lili is waiting…

You can help them by relaying their post on social networks. Here is the mom’s profile:

Also (related or not? I don’t know), a union came to demonstrate in front of the hospital dressed as a dead man with a coffin full of cash, sensitive images…

Share, and if you know people who can unblock this situation, please share with them (Brazilian health organization, WHO, even high ranking people in France?).

Thank you
