Gabriel spent a peaceful night with his cousin Claudilena.
The medical teams carried out respiratory physiotherapy, adjusted his diet and provided the necessary care while he slept.
His breathing seems better.
So a new week begins, and an important date (14/07) that symbolizes freedom, resistance and rebirth! Let’s hope this encourages her!
Vamos!

Today, Manuela and I met a new psychologist in Fortaleza who specializes in EMDR, a technique designed to help people overcome trauma. The purpose of our first meeting was to see if he could help us through this ordeal. He told us quite frankly that there was no miracle, that what we were going through was heavy, but that he understood perfectly, having gone through a similar situation with his own daughter. That first session was intense and emotional. We agreed to meet again to continue this work.
Back at the hospital, the UTI opened later than usual due to several interventions. When we entered, Gabriel was fast asleep. He seems to have slept a lot in recent days, probably because of the sedation… (precedex)
His breathing remains similar to yesterday’s, with no real improvement or worsening. A strong pull which is important but remains controlled. We’re making sure he cries as little as possible to avoid it getting worse, as we don’t want to go back to the tube. Because when he’s upset, his breathing is not as good.
According to the doctors, the blood and X-ray results are stable.
Earlier in the day, the hospital contacted us by telephone to inform us that they had made improvements on the last points we had raised in our complaint. We thanked them for these actions, but regretted that we had to file a complaint to get things moving. We also took the opportunity to point out a number of other issues that we felt were still inadequate or inappropriate.
I can’t wait to get out of here!
Thanks in any case for your messages, which have recharged our batteries.
I tell Gabriel every day that there’s a little virtual warehouse where he can store love for himself. And that with his little virtual tractor (inspired by his great-grandfather’s) he can go and collect this love (the one you send) and treat himself with it.
