{"id":483,"date":"2025-05-19T10:07:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T13:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hopeforgabriel.com\/19-05\/"},"modified":"2025-05-19T10:11:23","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T13:11:23","slug":"19-05","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hopeforgabriel.com\/en\/19-05\/","title":{"rendered":"19\/05"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">09:44<\/h3>\n\n<p>Today marks three weeks since we arrived at the hospital.<\/p>\n\n<p>Gabriel had a relatively stable night. <\/p>\n\n<p>He is now breathing with his own lungs, supported by a little oxygen via the respiratory machine whose concentration rate has been reduced since yesterday, from 60% to 45%.<\/p>\n\n<p>This is excellent news, and a great step forward!<\/p>\n\n<p>Just a week ago, his lungs were still very fragile, to the point that the only possible option had been to place him on ECMO, an artificial breathing system. <\/p>\n\n<p>Today, the fact that he is starting to breathe on his own again is very encouraging!<\/p>\n\n<p>For now, we are waiting for the results of the next blood tests and lung x-ray.<\/p>\n\n<p>Gabriel still shows some signs of jaundice, and his urine remains very dark.<\/p>\n\n<p>This shows that his liver and kidneys, probably strained by the ECMO, still need time to recover. <\/p>\n\n<p>This is expected, and the doctors are monitoring everything closely.<\/p>\n\n<p>The next 48 hours will be important to follow the evolution of his condition. <\/p>\n\n<p>So&#8230; we wait&#8230; A quality that we are starting to master well!  <\/p>\n\n<p>\n          <em>(Yoda! We&#8217;re in your rearview mirror!)<\/em>\n        <\/p>\n\n<p>Gabriel will also come out of isolation. <\/p>\n\n<p>He is joining the common area of the intensive care unit, with the other babies. (where he was before the ECMO) <\/p>\n\n<p>He will be placed in bed No. 6.<\/p>\n\n<p>This number has a special value because it&#8217;s the one of Dad&#8217;s conscripts! <\/p>\n\n<p>A well-known tradition in the Beaujolais region, where his dad grew up.<\/p>\n\n<p>A little wink from fate that makes us smile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>09:44 Today marks three weeks since we arrived at the hospital.
