In particular, to support his development and well-being, given his complex situation and the risk of regression. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we received the hospital&#8217;s response.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It arrived in the form of a very administrative, very &#8220;legal&#8221; text, in which we were informed, in summary, that they were refusing to take on these requests.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No surprise there.<br\/>But let&#8217;s take five minutes to think about it&#8230;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every day, there are people who get up in the morning and decide, somewhere in an office, whether or not a child has the right to live (well).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I sometimes wonder how these people explain their profession to their own children?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n          <em>&#8220;My son, today I&#8217;ve decided that your school friend won&#8217;t be allowed to live well.  <\/em>\n          <br\/>\n          <em>He&#8217;ll never be able to breathe properly. He may never be able to use his arms. <\/em>\n          <br\/>\n          <em>Yet I know how to help him, but I&#8217;ve decided no means no, because I&#8217;ve got to get my paycheck at the end of the month&#8221;.<\/em>\n        <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I just don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve been trained to understand that kind of logic.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that&#8217;s all right.<br\/><br\/>&#8220;All will be well, thanks to God&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In response to feedback from doctors who have recently examined Gabriel, we have compiled all their detailed reports.
