Gabriel spent the night for the first time with his aunt Perla, who arrived yesterday from S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n\n
Originally, we had planned a vacation together… Fate decided otherwise, but what a joy to see her again!<\/p>\n\n
Thanks to her visit, Gabriel has now met all of his mom’s siblings.<\/p>\n\n
The day went smoothly alongside Manuela.<\/p>\n\n
This morning, I also took on a personal challenge: a 10 km run that I signed up for 5 months ago. It was a breath of fresh air that did me a lot of good, especially mentally! <\/p>\n\n
And this afternoon… a big surprise: Manuela was able to hold Gabriel in her arms for the very first time!<\/p>\n\n
I received a message with a photo of Gabriel in his mother’s arms.<\/p>\n\n
I immediately rushed to the hospital to see it with my own eyes, and I managed to spend a few seconds watching them both by sneaking past security at the entrance.<\/p>\n\n
Gabriel hadn’t been in our arms since May 3rd.<\/p>\n\n
What a moment! Pure joy! <\/p>\n\n
Later, I was also able to hold him in my arms. He fell asleep like a baby and didn’t move for over an hour. <\/p>\n\n
Once back in his bed, he had a slight fever (37.5\u00b0C \/ 99.5\u00b0F). They explain this by the warmth of our arms, but also by the discontinuation of several medications, which can cause withdrawal effects. <\/p>\n\n
Finally, his machine was set to manual mode for respiratory rate. In this mode, Gabriel controls his own breathing, without an imposed minimum frequency. <\/p>\n\n
They are gradually preparing him for tube removal!<\/p>\n\n
